Apple One, Apple’s reply to Amazon Prime finally launches

According to a confirmation provided to Bloomberg by Apple CFO Luca Maestri, Apple’s all-in-one subscription services bundle, Apple One, is launching today.

CEO Tim Cook confirmed yesterday’s forthcoming launch of the bundle on the company’s quarterly investor call.

Apple One has three plans: the individual, the family, and the premier. Each of them offers a subset or combination of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud, Apple News+, and soon Apple Fitness+.

The plan includes single-user Apple Music, Apple TV+, the Apple Arcade, and $14.95 per month for a 50 GB of iCloud storage.

Apple Music is expanded to include a family membership and bumps 50 GB of storage on iCloud to 200 GB. The cost per month is $19.95.

Finally, Premier is adding Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+ and spending $29.95 a month on the entire 2 TB of iCloud storage. Initially, this plan will only be available in the U.S, UK, Canada, and Australia — the countries where Apple News+ is available.

On a related note, Maestri also said Apple Fitness+ will launch this year by the end. (Obviously, it won’t be available as part of the premier bundle until it launches.) Apple Fitness+ was recently announced; it serves various types of workout videos that users can exercise either at home or in the gym, with integration with Apple Music and the iPhone and Apple Watch Health app.

It showed another month of service growth when Apple reported earnings yesterday (16.3 percent year-over-year, for a total of $14.55 billion). For the past couple of years, Cupertino has been looking at services one way to sell slowly growing iPhones. Apple Music is a huge success to date, but the jury is on TV+ and News+ appears to be in difficulties.
